Repair and exchange

These Repair and Exchange terms describe the specific conditions that apply when you send components to BOND47 for inspection, repair, overhaul, or exchange. They apply in addition to the General Terms and Conditions for Customers and any commercial agreement or quotation issued for a particular order. By placing a repair or exchange order, you accept that these provisions form part of our contract.

Scope and definitions

Repair and exchange services cover eligible parts and components supplied or handled by BOND47 and its aviation, maritime, or electronics divisions. “Repair” means inspection and restoration of your unit to an approved serviceable condition. “Exchange” means you receive an alternative serviceable unit in place of your core, subject to the return and evaluation of your core unit.

Quotations, evaluation, and approvals

All repair and exchange work is based on a quotation that may include an initial evaluation fee, estimated labour, materials, and turnaround time. Final costs can vary after detailed inspection; if the required work exceeds the estimate or the unit is declared beyond economical repair, you will be notified for approval before proceeding. If you decline, evaluation and any incurred costs remain payable, and the unit may be returned “as is” or scrapped in line with your written instructions.

Core return and exchange conditions

For exchange transactions, you agree to return a repairable core of the same part number and configuration within the specified core return period. The core must be complete, free of major unauthorised modifications, and within agreed limits for damage and remaining life. If the core is missing, unrepairable, or outside agreed limits, additional charges or core penalties may apply, which will be invoiced according to the applicable quotation or price list.

Turnaround time and logistics

Turnaround times (TAT) given for repair and exchange are target values only and depend on material availability, technical findings, and third‑party shop capacity. You are responsible for shipping the unit to the designated facility, suitably packed and with correct documentation; return transport after repair or exchange follows the agreed delivery terms. Risk of loss or damage during transport follows the trade terms specified in the order confirmation.

Warranty and limitations

Repaired or exchanged units are normally supplied with a limited warranty period, starting from the date of shipment, as specified in the quotation or accompanying documentation. Warranty is limited to defects in workmanship or materials under normal use and does not cover misuse, improper installation, foreign object damage, or operation outside approved limits. Remedies are restricted to repair, replacement, or credit of the affected unit, at BOND47’s discretion, and are subject to the same liability limitations as in the General Terms and Conditions for Customers.

Documentation and regulatory compliance

All repair and exchange work is performed in accordance with the approvals, certifications, and regulations applicable to the relevant product and region. Serviceable units are supplied with appropriate certificates, test reports, and records as defined in the quotation or order confirmation. You are responsible for retaining and using this documentation to support continued airworthiness or regulatory compliance in your own operation.

Charges for unserviceable or scrapped units

If during inspection a unit is found to be beyond repair, unsafe, or uneconomical to restore, BOND47 will inform you and request written instructions. You may request return of the unit, subject to evaluation and handling fees, or authorize certified scrapping and disposal. In such cases, any quotation for repair or exchange may be withdrawn or revised, and you remain responsible for costs already incurred.
